I created Maya a la Mode to speak to the woman and her whole spiritual self.
A lil’ back story about me: I had my first daughter at age 17, turning 18 the very next day. That means I’ve literally been a mother my whole adult life. I went into my first low-paying job right after that, and then decided I needed to get more than a high-school education if I wanted to touch more money. It took me 7 years to get my bachelors degree only to have as leverage in other low-paying job interviews. (I live in the Bay Area where $50,000 just won’t cut it.)
I’m on a mission to help women create an insane amount of wealth for themselves and their families because let’s face it–if you aren’t a doctor/lawyer/trust fund baby you just are not going to escape poverty and corporate slavery, and that does quite the number on your self-worth.
I believe that financial stability IS A MAJOR PART of SPIRITUAL SUSTENANCE, especially for the woman of color.I also believe that we as a society are highly indoctrinated escape artists, using our phones and social media to escape an otherwise mundane reality, and that we just need a little help reframing our worldview.
